Super Bowl trophy no help to Giants against Eagles: Pierce
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Being Super Bowl champions will make no difference to the New York Giants in Sunday's divisional playoff against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to linebacker Antonio Pierce. "Defending champions? That's irrelevant," Giants defensive captain Pierce told reporters in a conference call on Monday.

| Packers fire defensive coordinator and five other coaches
NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Green Bay Packers dismissed defensive coordinator Bob Sanders and five other coaches on Monday after a 6-10 season. Defensive ends coach Carl Hairston, defensive tackles coach Robert Nunn, secondary coach Kurt Schottenheimer, defensive cornerbacks coach Lionel Washington and strength and conditioning coordinator Rock Gullickson were also let go.
